Middle Creek is dedicated to raising cattle on pasture from birth to finish. Cattle utilize both native and improved irrigated pastures throughout the year. During the fall and winter months they both graze and are fed hay that is produced on the farm. Calves stay with their mothers thru their first winter, and are weaned with very little stress at approx. 10 months of age, giving their rumens time to develop. This allows them to fully utilize what they eat, and for the hiefers to fill their fat cells in preparation for raising a calf, while maintaining their body score.
Commercial bulls and heifers/bred heifers are currently offered for sale each year by private treaty. Each bull must pass strict standards of linear measurement, and fertility. All animals are developed on forages only. No grain, grain by-products or growth hormones, are used. They receive free choice salt and minerals. This is possible thru both genetics and management.
Steers/heifers are currently marketed both as yearlings and to consumers as 100% grass fed beef.
